To access these new characters, simply bring up the keyboard and hold down a key such as a U or O. You’ll see a menu pop-up with additional variations of that character. One of the best shortcuts is holding down the .com key, when in Safari or Mail, to get a set of additional domains such as .edu, .org and .net.

Thanks to the iPad’s bigger screen, you are able to boost your dock by 2 additional icons bringing the total to 6 apps you can have in the dock. To add additional icons, or even change the ones already there, simply tap and hold any app icon your iPad screen for about 1 to 2 seconds. You’ll see the icons start to shake, this indicates you can now rearrange them on the screen. You can drag any icon from the Home screen into the dock or remove existing app icons by dragging them off the dock. Once you have the app icons arranged the way you like them, press the Home button on you iPad and your newly arranged screen will be set.

When you release the buttons, you’ll see the screen flash and hear a camera shutter click. The screenshot will be stored in your Photos library and can then easily be exported or mailed.

You can create shortcuts to your favorite websites using the iPad’s Web clips feature. Web clips appear as icons on your iPad’s Home screen and you can rearrange them the same way you do other apps.
To add a web clip simply open the webpage you’d like to add, tap the “+” button located on the top of the Safari and then tap “Add to Home Screen” from the menu .
When you open a web clip, Safari automatically zooms and scrolls to the area of the webpage that was displayed when you saved the web clip. The displayed area is also used to create the icon for the web clip on your Home screen, unless the webpage comes with its own custom icon.
53. How to Increase Battery Life
The iPad battery can last for up to 10 hours, but you can squeak out a bit more usage. Drag the brightness slider (under Settings, Brightness) as low as you can stand, turn off both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (under Settings), don’t play and videos or music, and avoid gaming apps.
