Where is everyone ?
I don't understand why there aren't any responses to your posts Ron....I haven't received any emails for help....a group setting is so much more difficult...it would be so much easier if we could get the apple newbies at a level where the group meeting would be productive....a month is plenty of time to get the basics .....then the meetings would make sense to me....I hope my doubts will be turned around soon....and someone shows some interest by asking questions real soon....their interest will stimulate all those who are waiting to help
Can You Help?
I'd like to encourage our more experienced members to add their name and email address to the sidebar gadget titled "How To Get Help". We have a bunch of newbies to the Apple kingdom that need your tutoring. If you'd like to volunteer just leave a comment below or email me.

New Features Added
We added some new features to the sidebar. First is "How to Get Help". If you have an Apple question or problem you can email either Bob or Michael. For help with the Blog use my email.
Second, we added the "Oak Run Blogs & Websites" feature. You can click on any of these links to see what other clubs are doing or get any information you need about ORHA and Oak Run.
We will keep working to add other features you want and need, just let us know.

The Invitations Have Been Sent
All members of the Group have been sent invitations to join the Blog. Once you become a member of the Blog you will be able to write your own post or comment on someone else's post. If you already have a Google Account (I don't mean Gmail) this process is very easy.
To create a Google Account will take just a little more effort. You don't have to make or have a Gmail address in order to create a Google Account. Their newest account creation page forces you to make a Gmail identity. BUT, this link, https://accounts.google.com/newaccount, will allow you to create the Google Account with ANY valid email.
If you have trouble with setting up your account or with posting and commenting on the Blog just email me at oakrunaug@gmail.com. There is also helpful information at the links in the right sidebar under "More About Blogs".

Our First Meeting
I think everyone was excited to get the Apple Users Group started. We had a great first session. The Group agreed to maintain an informal approach to meetings.
Bob Petrone seems to be our go-to guy. He's very enthusiastic about all things Apple and really knows his stuff. If you need help, email him at zwezi@me.com. Also able to help with problems or deciding between PC and Apple is Michael Kinney. You can contact him at mkinney5@twcny.rr.com.
The Group will continue to meet on the 4th Friday of each month in the Orchid Club Auditorium at 3:00PM. During next month's meeting, Mar 23, we may try to tackle some issues that require being online.
If anyone needs help with this blog or has any other questions please call me at 897-0297.

Inaugural Meeting
The first meeting of the Group will be Friday, Feb. 24, at 3:00PM in the Orchid Club. We will discuss how we want to organize and what we hope to achieve, among other things. We need everyone to attend this meeting. If we have a poor showing, we'll go nowhere fast. Be sure to wear your Oak Run name tag so we can get to know each other by name. See you there.

Welcome
The Apple Users Group (AUG) is being formed here in Oak Run for all residents that use Apple products. This includes, but is not limited to, Mac Pro, iMac, MacBook, iPad, iPhone, iPod, and applications such as Safari, iTunes, iCloud and others.
If enough people are interested then a club can be formed. The club would be tasked with providing information and instruction on the use of the above Apple products and more. There is also the possiblity of becoming registered with Apple worldwide and having access to discounts and other benefits of registration.
There is currently a Macintosh Users Group in Ocala that may be able to help us get the AUG up and running. If you want to know more about this group visit their website http://ocalamug.org/.
I've begun an email list based on phone calls I've received so far. If anyone else would like to be part of the AUG then please email me at oakrunaug@gmail.com.
